About the Opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Senior Engineer to join our Consulting Highways team based in the Trafford office, with flexible working options.
Amey and Trafford Council are working together to deliver environmental and infrastructure services for Trafford. The partnership maintains and improves nearly 800 km of roads, 17,000 km of footways, 150 structures, 30,000 street columns and illuminated signs and 37 parks, and collects waste from 97,000 households.
The Trafford Highways Consulting account provides the local highway authority function for Trafford Council. It comprises about 40 core engineers, technicians and support staff, organised into four teams (Traffic, Development Control & Drainage, Highway Maintenance and Highway Structures).

What You Will Bring to Us
* Developed experience and expertise within highways/civil engineering.
* Comprehensive knowledge of design processes and procedures relevant to civil engineering.
* Ability to produce or oversee technically sound highways engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
* Experience with health, safety and welfare tasks, e.g., Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
* Successful completion of initial professional development leading to Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence.
* Demonstrable commitment to the plan of actions and key dates leading to successful professional qualification.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning.
* EngTech status desirable, gained through the professional institution to which the individual is aligned.
