Senior Engineer (Weights) Location: Gaydon Contract Order Ref: (phone number removed) Overview We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Weights) to join the On‑Cycle (programme delivery) Weights Engineering team. In this role, you will take responsibility for coordinating, analysing, and delivering all weight‑related activities across assigned vehicle programmes. You'll work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to set and achieve targets, resolve complex mass‑related issues, and ensure compliance with certification and regulatory requirements. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Programme Weight Management Lead coordination of vehicle weight data across all functional owners. Own programme‑level weight targets, including: Target setting and balancing Status reporting to Integration and senior leadership Apply set control models to determine the mass and loads for all buildable programme derivatives. Mass Issue Resolution & Analysis Lead resolution of key mass‑related challenges, including target gaps, load distribution, and feasibility. Calculate vehicle mass properties from geometry or first‑principles methods. Coordinate the creation, maintenance, and validation of Vehicle Mass Property Models.
