Role Overview The Head of Department (HOD) Facilities & Technical is responsible for the on-site management, condition, and operational readiness of Translux facilities and technical equipment on production. This role ensures all equipment is clean, presentable, correctly reported, and moved efficiently, while acting as Transluxs primary on-site representative and maintaining a high standard of service for production. Key Responsibilities Facilities & Equipment Take ownership of all Translux facilities and technical equipment on site Ensure all kit is clean, presentable, fully operational, and production-ready Carry out regular checks and report any damage, faults, or missing items promptly Reporting & Administration Complete weekly rental reports accurately and on time Maintain clear records of equipment usage and condition Highlight any discrepancies or additional usage that may affect billing Planning & Movements Communicate all swing movements, relocations, and upcoming moves to the planning team in advance Provide timely information to allow drivers and vehicles to be booked efficiently Contracts & Additional Kit Identify any additional equipment requirements as production evolves Liaise directly with the Contracts Department for approval of all additional kit Ensure no additional equipment is supplied without Contracts authorisation Production & Client Liaison Work closely with the production team to ensure a positive and professional Translux experience Act as a calm, solutions-focused point of contact on site Represent Translux International professionally at all times Team & Site Responsibility Support technicians and crew on site, ensuring Translux standards and procedures are followed Promote a safe, organised, and professional working environment Skills & Experience Essential Experience in facilities, technical, or unit-based roles within film & TV production Strong organisational and communication skills High attention to detail, particularly with reporting and equipment condition Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment Desirable Previous HOD or senior on-site experience Understanding of rental reporting, swing movements, and production logistics
