Youâll also polish vehicles, carry out minor repairs and refinish vehicles to manufacturer specification. \nThe right person for this role will have excellent communication skills, a meticulous eye for detail and plenty of enthusiasm. Youâll also be able to carry yourself in a professional manner. \n Day-to-day duties \nâ¢\tPreparing vehicles in a logical manner to return the vehicle to the manufacturerâs specifications. \nâ¢\tCarrying out general housekeeping in the bodyshop. \nâ¢\tLiaising with mentors and supervisors to carry out any necessary tasks. \nâ¢\tBeing able to work safely while completing bodyshop tasks. \nâ¢\tCompleting polishing operations after refinishing. \nâ¢\tCompleting finishing operations and learning to apply topcoats. \n\n Essential skills \nâ¢\tNational 4 or above in Maths, English and a traditional science or technical subject or accredited equivalent.\nâ¢\tGood levels of literacy and numeracy. \nâ¢\tReliable and keen to learn. \nâ¢\tA good basic grasp of hand skills. \nâ¢\tThe ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team. \nâ¢\tThe ability to understand the importance of timescales and deadlines. \nâ¢\tThe ability to multi-task. \nâ¢\tBe able to understand job cards and whatâs needed to return a vehicle to manufacturer specification. \n
