Parkingeye has a fleet of over 100 vehicles across all entities, with two thirds of these in the UK. As Fleet Operations Specialist, you will be the go-to expert for the management and coordination of all UK fleet; both company cars and commercial vehicles, running a safe, efficient, cost effective and compliant fleet. You will also provide fleet support and guidance for our 3 EU businesses. You will play a vital role in maintaining UK vehicle availability, reducing downtime, supporting business operations and sustainability initiatives. You will be proactive, detail oriented, commercially minded, and ready to hit the ground running. You will also assist the Head of Procurement in various sourcing projects, both fleet related and for the wider business. This position would suit someone looking for an interesting and varied role, who has prior fleet experience and an interest in sustainability and procurement. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: FLEET MANAGEMENT Vehicle acquisition – the purchase, lease and hire of commercial vehicles & company cars. Maintenance and repairs (preventative & reactive) – coordinating servicing, MOTs and breakdowns with venders and drivers to minimise down time and maximise vehicle availability, including arranging replacement vehicles to facilitate continuity. DRIVER SUPPORT Driver queries and concerns. Fuel cards and mileage management. Ensuring proper vehicle usage. Registering vehicles for tolls and carpark whitelists. SAFETY & COMPLIANCE Liaising with employees to ensure vehicles are road worthy. Managing accident claims with drivers, Parkingeye finance department and insurance company, recording appropriate details and completing claims forms. Understanding and ensuring adherence to regulation and internal policies. Updating the company on changes in legislation. Managing driving licence and insurance checks. Dealing with driver traffic violations, including recording of all infringements, notification to driver and relevant department. COST & DATA MANAGEMENT Sourcing new suppliers as required. Placing purchase orders, reviewing charges and approving invoices. Vehicle tracker management and fuel analysis. Maintaining motor insurance database. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing efficiency improvements. Production of a monthly management report summarising fuel, hire, lease costs, number of offences, accidents etc. STRATEGIC PLANNING Contributing to the development of fleet policies, future needs and technologies. Owner of the company Drivers Manual and Grey Fleet policy. Responsible for keeping them current and relevant. SUSTAINABILITY Supporting initiatives for sustainable transport and fuel solutions. Proposing strategies and practices to minimise our environmental impact whilst maintaining operational efficiency and supporting long term business performance. Completion of questionnaires and statistics reporting on fleet carbon emissions. Other Supporting the Head of Procurement in the administration of procurement projects including working towards leading low level sourcing initiatives across the business. Working closely with all operational departments including Finance, Legal and EU teams. FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar fleet role is essential. Proven Fleet Expertise: Demonstrable relevant knowledge, encompassing day-to-day operational coordination and regulatory compliance. Strategic Cost Management: Ability to review existing processes and implement new strategies to reduce cost. Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and strong stakeholder relationship building skills to effectively manage and influence both external suppliers and internal stakeholders (UK & EU). Operational Precision: Highly organised with a meticulous attention to detail, focusing on accuracy and process compliance. Analytical Insight: Strong analytical capabilities, with a good working knowledge of Excel and the proficiency to interpret data. Proactive Problem Solver: Professionally curious with a proactive approach to identifying issues and driving improvements. Licence: Must hold a valid, full, UK driving licence.
