We are seeking to recruit a full-time Principal Teacher Primary at St Joseph's RC Primary School. The school is part of the newly formed Portpatrick and St Joseph's RC Partnership. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone seeking a management challenge and wishing to gain experience working with a forward-thinking management team across our two-school partnership. The post holder will be responsible for teaching assigned classes and undertaking management activities within the school and across the partnership learning community.

In accordance with Section 21 (2A) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980, the successful candidate must have the approval of the Roman Catholic Church. Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check prior to a formal offer of employment by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in their country of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
