Several opportunities exist to join Rochdale Borough Council as a full-time Social Worker based within the community mental health teams (CMHT) covering Rochdale.
The Job:
This role focuses on Adult Social Care priorities and functions such as:
1. Care Act assessments
2. Commissioning services
3. Completing mental capacity assessments
4. Undertaking safeguarding enquiries
Work is carried out in conjunction with CMHT clinical staff as part of partnership arrangements with Pennine Care NHS Trust.
Professional Requirements:
* Registered with Social Work England
Knowledge and Skills Required:
* Experience in Adult Social Care, including direct work with individuals, care act assessments, commissioning support packages, mental capacity assessments, safeguarding enquiries, and carer assessments.
* Knowledge of secondary mental health care pathways and risk management experience.
* Experience in completing social circumstance reports and/or facilities reports for mental health tribunals and hearings.
* Understanding of relevant social care and health legislation and its practical application.

We provide regular supervision and ongoing professional development opportunities. Training options include social work career progression, AMHP training, BIA training, Practice Educator training, and supporting student placements.
Qualified practising AMHPs will have the opportunity to practice on a rota supporting those based within the dedicated AMHP Hub, with regular supervision, refresher training, and management support. An allowance of £2025 per annum is payable to qualified/practising AMHPs, subject to certain conditions. Those already qualified as Best Interest Assessors can participate in the BIA rota.
