Are you an experienced manager with transferrable skills and a strategic mindset?

Do you have a proven track record of success in a demanding, fast paced, target driven industry?

Would you be able to run a diverse transport department?

Although logistics experience is desirable, it is not essential.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Financial management - Responsible for management of customer revenue & department costs
* Strategic planning – Proactively develop & present departmental plans to support business needs
* Business development – Seek-out, Identify & work alongside peers to realise new opportunities
* Operational development - The ongoing improvement of departmental performance against KPI's
* Department compliance – Ensure company policy is maintained within this section

SKILLS & TRAITS:

* Innovative thinking – Develop & drive forward alternative ideas, new ways of thinking
* Proactive drive – The desire and ability to make things happen
* The ability to motivate – Lead by example and engage with stakeholders
* Solution orientated - Turn strategic expectations into well considered, quantifiable plans
* Effective negotiator – Use logic, reasoning & persuasion to obtain the required results
* Strong written & verbal communicator – Ensure your comments & requirements are understood
* Financial awareness – The skill & interest to read and interpret financial information
* Microsoft Office based software – Word / Excel / Outlook experience as a minimum

KNOWLEDGE:

* Legal statutory obligations – Employee / Health & Safety / Environmental
* Internal management systems – 1SO 9001 based

Desirable:

* Logistics sector – How it operates, who makes the decisions & how to make them listen

EXPERIENCE:

* Proven senior management responsibility for business restructuring – Planning & implementing
* Budget setting with effective management & control against it
* Playing a direct role within a proactive, change centred culture
* Preparing and presenting professional business proposals at all levels
* Effective use of and reporting against KPI systems
* Progress report writing and presentation of results
* Handling formal discipline processes – Handling appeals – Legal obligations – Etc
* Training and coaching staff – Assessing performance and effective skills development

Desirable:

* Involvement or previous experience within an automotive network
* Strong, proven working knowledge of modern Distribution techniques & demands
* Working level traffic desk management – Hands on experience

Licence/Certification:

* Transport Manager CPC (required)
