On behalf of my client, I am actively recruiting for a M&E Manager to work on an ongoing project in Bristol. My client is a multidisciplinary construction company working as a main contractor, delivering high-end projects across Ireland and the UK.
You will report to the Head of Construction and will be involved in managing the successful delivery of all schemes on site, from procurement of main contractors to practical completion.
Responsibilities:
* Implement the site safety plan & rules;
* Develop strategic project execution plans;
* Check all materials before installation to ensure they are fit for use & comply with project specifications;
* Report incidents and act accordingly;
* Ensure employees have relevant training and expertise for safe and professional work;
* Manage resources on site for efficient working;
* Maintain and secure all plant equipment;
* Lead day-to-day delivery of design and build;
* Manage design teams in developing design solutions.
Requirements:
* Experience managing projects of varying values and complexities within a data centre environment;
* At least 2 years’ experience as an M&E supervisor in electrical work;
* Experience with main contractor, subcontractor, or consultancy roles;
* Educational background to at least HNC, NVQ level 4, or equivalent full technical standard;
* IT literacy with Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project;
* Extensive knowledge and background in M&E;
* Willingness to travel daily/weekly around sites.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of project aspects from enabling works to practical completion;
* Advise on contract procurement routes and contractor selection;
* Provide project direction and ensure contractor alignment;
* Maximize revenue opportunities and operational efficiency;
* Participate in weekly internal meetings to communicate progress and next steps;
* Attend site visits to monitor progress in line with schedule and budget;
* Identify delays and develop practical solutions;
* Attend design meetings to challenge operational, architectural, and structural assumptions;
* Collaborate with Procurement Manager for value optimization.
Additional Requirements:
* Proven experience as a construction project manager;
* Deep understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles;
* Familiarity with quality and health & safety standards;
* Good knowledge of MS Office and construction/project management software;
* Leadership skills and team collaboration abilities;
* BSc/BA in engineering, building science, or relevant field;
* PMP or equivalent certification is advantageous.
