Job Summary
Develop your clinical skills through a 12‑month Preceptorship Programme led by a multi‑professional team of educators. The programme covers key areas such as quality improvement, resilience, and mindfulness, and prepares newly qualified Therapists for a broad range of settings.
Main Duties of the Job
* Assess and treat patients referred to the team, providing care under the guidance of Senior Therapists.
* Participate in staff rotational scheme across ward settings and outpatient departments at three sites – Rheumatology, Upper Limb, Orthopaedics, Stroke Rehab, Reablement, Complex Rehab, Gerontology, and more.
* Assist Senior staff in organising work within clinical areas and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, Work Experience Students, and Healthcare Cadets.
* Work across a 7‑day service with flexible rotations and optional weekend acute intervention.
* Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, teaching sessions, and clinical audits.

Job Responsibilities
* Conduct Occupational Therapy assessment, diagnose, implement treatment plans, and evaluate care delivery for routine and complex patients.
* Participate in Clinical Specialist‐led clinics as required per rotation.
* Liaise with senior colleagues on caseload management, treatment progression, and ongoing care.
* Conduct home assessments and liaise with family, carers, multidisciplinary teams, and statutory agencies.
* Maintain accurate and timely treatment records in line with Trust standards.
* Provide cover and undertake duties of absent colleagues as necessary.
* Comply with all Trust policies, Health & Safety, College of Occupational Therapy standards, Data Protection Act, and Caldicott recommendations.
* Engage in clinical audit, professional development, CPD, and competency maintenance.
* Assist with induction and training of new staff and students, and contribute to in‑service training programmes.
