As a result of our continued growth, we are expanding our Safety Team and are looking foradditionalSafety Advisors to support the business with roles available based in Northampton, Huntingdon, Cambridge & Peterborough
In this role, you will provide professional and authoritative safety services, offering specialist advice across all areas of safety. Yourexpertisewill be essential in enabling our managers, employees, and partner contractors to adhere to Anglian Water’s comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, and practices.

Whatyou’llbe doing:
11. SupportCapitalDeliveryteamsto ensure all construction activities, including civil engineering works, are planned and delivered safely and in compliance with statutory and organisational health and safety requirements.
12. Provide proactive health and safety leadership across Delivery Route construction teams.
13. Drive continuous improvement in safety performancein the construction activitiesacross Anglian Water and Partner Contractors.
14. Promote a positive safety culture through visible presence, coaching, and engagement.
15. Partner with Delivery RouteTeamsto ensure works are planned and delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with CDM and company standards.
16. Identify, assess, and influence control of health and safety risks associated with complex andhigh‑riskconstruction activities.
17. Deliver assurance through inspections, audits, andcontractor engagement, driving continuous improvement in safety outcomes.
18. Provideappropriate expert,timely(reactive and proactive), cost effective andpracticableadvice and guidance to managers and employees on safety mattersin order tocomply withlegal and moral health and safety standards.
19. Support and influence front line managers & staff to ensure that they understand and adhere toappropriate practicesconsistent with current legislation and industry best practice.
20. Resolve enquiries received from customers (both internal and external) andrespondas necessary.
21. Provideappropriateand targeted support on procedures and guidance to managers and employees.
22. Work with other safety professionals to ensure a consistent approach to safety and share best practice across the business.
23. Review business unit performance and provide support and direction toidentifyareas requiring development and improvement.
24. Carry out detailed investigations and report on significant accidents, incidents and near misses.
25. Establish andmaintaineffective relationships with partnercontractorspersonnel to develop initiatives and common standards to raise H&S performance.
What does it take to be successful?
26. Proven experience enforcing and improving safety standards within a construction environment.
27. Strong practical understanding of CDM Regulations, with the ability to drive compliance and improve safety outcomes.
28. Full UK Driving Licence due to the regular travel across the region
29. Applicants must live within the Anglian Water Region due to the nature of the role and the travelrequired. This ensurestimelyaccess to our sites and effective collaboration with our team
30. Ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or having embarked on/part way through the course)
31. Member of IOSH (Tech IOSH/MIOSH or Grad IOSH)
32. NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum
33. Flexible in responding to customer needs and safety team demands
34. Excellent written and oral communication skills
