We are seeking a Dispatch Manager to join our dynamic team in Buckley.
As an integral member of the Dispatch team, the Dispatch Manager will oversee the scheduling, routing and timely delivery of goods, whilst managing our team of drivers and small dispatch team to ensure that all processes are followed and operations run smoothly.
Your Responsibilities:
* Oversee the outbound logistics operations, guaranteeing that goods are dispatched accurately and on time by working closely with the team members of the dispatch team and other areas of the business.
* Inspire and guide a small team of drivers and dispatch staff, encouraging a culture centred on safety and communication between the team.
* Initiate continuous improvements to boost efficiency in outbound processes
* Monitor driver routes and hours worked
* Ensure that vehicle and driver Tachographs and driver infringements are handled correctly according to VOSA requirements, whilst keeping accurate records.
* Maintain accurate records of dispatch data
* Liaise with colleagues to ensure vehicles are kept up to date with regular maintenance/tyre safety checks and mot's.
* To ensure good housekeeping and organisation within the Dispatch storage unit
* Assist with ad hoc vehicle collections as needed.
Requirements
* Demonstrated background as a Goods Out / Dispatch Manager or in a comparable supervisory position.
* Strong team management skills and leadership potential
* Good knowledge of logistics, Tachomaster and Microsoft and general IT Skills
* Organisational skills and abilities and Multitasking skills
* Good understanding of people management processes including absence management, 1-2-1s and performance management.
* Meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
* Some manual work will be required to ensure vehicles are loaded correctly and within their weight restrictions, and to ensure correct storage or product.
* FLT Licence and a minimum of a clean car licence
