A forward-thinking, inclusive primary school in Merton (E3) is seeking a Therapeutic Learning Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and social-emotional challenges through imaginative, therapeutic approaches. You'll work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to deliver nurturing, creative interventions that make a lasting impact on children's confidence, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
Role Summary - Therapeutic Learning Assistant
Full-time, term-time role
Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with Autism, SLCN, and emotional regulation needs
Use drama, music, art, or play to support therapeutic and learning goals
Contribute to a compassionate, inclusive learning environment
Collaborate closely with staff and therapists on targeted support plans
£105-£115 per day, depending on experience and qualificationsPerson Specification
Degree in Art, Drama, Music, Psychology, Education, or related discipline
Passionate about child development and creative therapeutic approaches
Emotionally attuned, patient, and highly engaging
Experience working with children or vulnerable groups is desirable
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A future therapist, counsellor, SEN teacher, or wellbeing professional in the makingSchool Overview
