About the Role
The successful candidate will work alongside class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to provide targeted support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
Responsibilities include:
1. Delivering 1:1 and small group support for pupils with identified SEN, including autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs
2. Assisting in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
3. Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
4. Promoting pupil independence and confidence in the classroom
5. Helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
6. Has proven experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
7. Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
8. Has a good understanding of a range of SEN needs and effective classroom strategies
9. Is patient, empathetic, and confident in supporting emotional and behavioural needs
10. Communicates effectively with pupils, staff, and families
