Customs Coordinator) - Position Overview
Our client is a well-established UK shipping agent and logistics partner, specialising in marine fuel supply and shipping services across the UK and Ireland. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Customs Coordinator to join their team.
As a Customs Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods by managing the customs clearance process for both road and sea freight. You will liaise directly with HMRC, use various customs platforms, and respond to customer queries efficiently and professionally.
(Customs Coordinator) - Position Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Process import and export customs clearances for both road and sea freight
Accurately input and manage customs entries using CNS, Destin8, and Descartes systems
Liaise directly with HMRC to resolve any compliance or clearance issues
Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, providing updates and resolving queries in a timely manner
Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with current import/export regulations and procedures
Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail when processing entries
Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth flow of goods through the supply chain
Candidate Requirements:
Prior experience in customs clearance processing is essential
Strong knowledge of import and export procedures and regulatory requirements
Confident using CNS, Destin8, and Descartes platforms
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
(Customs Coordinator) - Position Remuneration
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (D.O.E)
20 days holiday plus bank holidays
