Job Title: Principal Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller Overview: An exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Principal Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to lead the delivery of high-impact wastewater infrastructure projects. This role offers the chance to shape the future of water management through technical excellence, stakeholder collaboration, and innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership and guidance across wastewater hydraulic modelling projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards. Prepare and approve technical documentation, including design calculations, specifications, datasheets, and contract deliverables. Oversee technical governance and quality assurance within the project team. Manage project budgets and ensure timely, cost-effective delivery. Resolve complex design and modelling challenges, applying industry best practices and promoting digital solutions where appropriate. Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, present findings, and maintain positive working relationships. Collaborate with supply chain partners and delivery teams to drive efficiency and standardisation. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by challenging existing methods and supporting the adoption of innovative approaches. Mentor, coach, and develop junior engineers, contributing to their technical growth and overall team engagement. May act as a line manager for junior staff, supporting their professional development and performance. Requirements: Degree (MEng/BEng/BSc or HNC) in Engineering, Environmental, or a related numerate science discipline. Chartered Engineer status with an appropriate professional institution. Strong technical background in wastewater hydraulic modelling, with demonstrable experience delivering UK water industry projects on time and within budget. Thorough understanding of wastewater engineering principles and relevant modelling software tools. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills. Competence in Microsoft Office and relevant design software. Full driving licence and willingness to undertake occasional site visits across the South East. Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and solve complex engineering problems.
