We are looking for forest school leader to teach forest school 1 day per week. As a Forest School Leader, you will curate a safe, engaging and stimulating environment for children to learn a wide range of forestry skills, and develop a love of the great outdoors. This role will also include supporting the whole school from Early Years to Year 6, where you will develop and deliver engaging activities, to encourage the children to meet their individual goals. You will create a safe environment that allows children the freedom to express themselves, engage their minds, and help to foster a lifelong love of learning. The successful candidate will be: Friendly, approachable and engaging manner Adaptable and flexible to change Passionate about outdoor learning and happy to work outdoors throughout the year Enjoy growing plants and keen to develop and share your skills Creativity to build a varied program of gardening, forest school and craft activities across the year Proactive communication skills Duties to include: To plan and develop a Forest School in conjunction with the head teacher. To plan, prepare and deliver a range of Forest School sessions. To liaise with adults attending prior to sessions to ensure plans are appropriate and all needs and expectations are met. Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met, including Risk Assessments which are continually checked and updated. To supervise and support participants with varying needs while delivering sessions. To create and maintain an engaging, fun and supportive environment, demonstrating flexibility in planning and running sessions in response to varying/changing needs of children. To administer first aid as the need arises. To observe confidentiality at all times. To undertake all duties reasonably associated with running Forest School.
