Successful post holders will be responsible for theprovision of catering services within Hollies Restaurant and Cafe Quick and toensure that areas are safe and hygienic at all times. All staff would be partof a team and have the ability to use a degree of initiative to prioritize andorganise the daily duties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at alltimes regardless of the situation. Post holders will be also be expected to beflexible to the needs of the service.
The successful applicant will have :
Previous catering experience in a fast paced environment
Sound knowledge of food hygiene regulations
Excellent communication and customer care skills
Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene
Main duties of the job
Service Delivery
To work under the direction of the Retail ServicesSupervisor/Manager and assist in the preparation of nutritious and appetizingmeals and snacks for staff and visitors, according to planned menu usingspecified recipes, methods and systems for cook chill catering to the highest possible standardsnutritional, temperature, quality, presentation, hygiene and safety andallergen regulations
To be involved in the preparation of all retail and buffetproducts, adhering strictly to standard recipes, methods and productionplanning adhered to.
Ensure high standards of food quality from point ofpurchase to meal preparation, cooking and service, ensuring quality controlprocess throughout.
To operate the electronic tills and the handling of cash
To work within the coffee shop outlet after full trainingwith the barista style machines
To assist in temperature monitoring and recording of allproduced meals/foodstuffs and food storage equipment in accordance withstandards as laid down in the Catering Departments Policies and Procedures andHazard Analysis Critical Control Points(HACCP)
Assist with receipt, quality assurance andstock control of goods

Job responsibilities
To supportand assist the Retail Supervisor and Retail Manager in the provision of ahighly professional catering service within the retail units at DarlingtonMemorial Hospital and to ensure that high quality standards are met at alltimes
To followthe policies and procedures laid down by the retail services in the day to dayoperational management of retail and to ensure a high quality and costeffective service
To ensurethat food safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
Provideand maintain a highly customer focused restaurant facility.
Ensurethat communication channels are maintained between appropriate staff / visitor/ patient groups with regard to patient feeding.
Work in asafe manner so that no other persons are put at risk whilst completing therequired duties.
Initiallydeal with any complaints / comments regarding the service in a courteous mannerfrom Trust staff or patients.
Developingstaff preferences, promoting flexible working arrangements, and encouragechange of working practice following major life changing events.
