As part of the Optometry team at SFT, you will play a vital role in delivering a wide range of services, including:
* Adult and paediatric refraction
* Contact lens fitting and low vision services
* Medical retina clinics, including intraocular injections
* Glaucoma monitoring and review clinics
* Cataract pathways including pre‑and post‑operative care
* Acute referral clinics
* Clinical audit, teaching, and research projects to support service development
We are particularly keen to develop Optometry‑led pathways that enhance patient access, reduce waiting times, and support our medical colleagues in meeting rising demand for secondary care ophthalmology.

With nearly 32,000 new patients each year, our Ophthalmology Department is also playing a leading role in shaping eye care strategy across the Bath, Swindon, and Wiltshire (BSW) Eyecare Network and the wider BSW Hospitals Group.
