The role
Involved in all M&A deals from due diligence stage through to the completion of integration, the M&A Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be the senior technical knowledge in the M&A IT team.
Working with the M&A team, the candidate will help assess the IT used by prospective companies with an eye for risk. Upon completion of a deal work then shifts to integration of the acquired offices IT into Azets Group.
The work will require strong inter-disciplinary infrastructure knowledge as the projects range in scope from migrating email solutions all the way through to the migration of virtual workloads, applications, networking and traffic management.
The M&A IT team are responsible for understanding and documenting the physical and virtual hardware that supports the systems, networks, and storage necessary for IT service delivery at an acquired site. This includes maintenance, provisioning and migration of IaaS solutions, servers, system security, network & WAN management, integration platforms, installing and patching hardware, monitoring assets, and configuring, deploying, or provisioning servers.
The role is focused entirely on technical implementation, maintenance and support of M&A IT projects.
The role is 95% remote with some presence required for face to face team meetings. The role is not customer facing but some interaction with end users and senior stakeholders is required.
Key accountabilities
The Key responsibilities can be summarised as:
1. To be the senior technical resource for the M&A IT team.
2. Implement required changes to system in with the agreed deliverable.
3. Support the wider M&A team with integration activities.
4. To identify the necessary infrastructure change and create the necessary change requests
5. Provide technical assistance to the M&A IT team as required
6. To escalate any potential issue to the management team
7. Coordinate with the M&A Infrastructure Specialist to understand project requirements and feed in to the improvement of project plans.
8. To coordinate with 3rd parties when required
9. To document and hand over any new systems or changes to BAU
10. Help advice and identity automation efficiency that the business might not have considered
11. To have a level of product ownership, responsible for certain areas of infrastructure
Skills & experience
12. Advanced working knowledge of contemporary infrastructure, including but not limited to: multiple different hypervisors, storage methodologies, private cloud providers and operating systems
13. Practical working knowledge and understanding of a range of networking and connectivity to maintain a secure and performant network
14. Advanced experience with PowerShell and scripting
15. Good experience and knowledge using T-SQL to make changes within databases
16. Demonstratable ability to understand new infrastructure, software and technology as dictated by the specific deal
17. Good experience of application packaging and delivery
18. Advanced experience and knowledge of operating relevant security practices
19. Advanced experience of maintenance processes and applies them in working practices
20. Advanced experience and knowledge of how to operate remotely and securely
21. Advanced experience and knowledge of Cloud and Cloud Services
22. Advanced knowledge and understands the importance of disaster recovery and how a disaster recovery plan works and their role within it
