An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Eye Care Centre, Ophthalmic Outpatients Department, for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant working full and part-time hours between Monday to Friday.
The Eye Care Centre is an extremely fast-paced, busy ophthalmic outpatient department, with approximately 4,500 patients attending each month for a variety of ophthalmic conditions and treatments.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be assisting clinicians in undertaking specialised clinics.
This post is rotational, with ophthalmic clinics held in the Surgical Centre, Northwich.
Main duties of the job
1. Check patients' visual acuity.
2. Gain competency with numerous pieces of equipment.
3. Assist all grades of clinicians with clinics.
4. Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and legibly.
5. Ensure clinics run smoothly.
6. Ensure all stock supplies are available and well stocked.
7. Support patients.
8. Work with an ophthalmic multidisciplinary team.
9. Perform basic observations.
10. Administer drop instillation.
