Job Overview:
Our client is a reputable accountancy looking to appoint a Payroll Assistant to join their team. We are looking for a payroll candidate who has a background in technical systems, confident in payroll processes and a team player.
Duties:
- Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll for employees
- Collect and verify timesheets, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings
- Prepare payroll reports for management review
- Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data in the payroll system
- Assist with the administration of benefits programs, including enrollment and changes
- Conduct data entry tasks related to payroll and employee information
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, such as W-2 preparation
Requirements:
- Proven experience in payroll administration or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse data accurately
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as xero or brightpay
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
