A forward-thinking local authority in Herefordshire is seeking a Senior Practitioner to join its Safeguarding & Support Teams. The Role The Senior Practitioner will work collaboratively with managers and partner agencies to deliver high-quality services to children, young people, and families. This role is central to Herefordshire's restorative journey of improvement and offers the chance to make a genuine impact. Key responsibilities include: Supporting and mentoring apprentices, step-up students, and family support workers Leading on practice development and training across the wider service Implementing practice standards, quality assurance frameworks, and professional values Providing coaching and supervision to team members Contributing to a safe, supportive, and learning-focused team culture Candidate Requirements Applicants must: Hold a recognised Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent) Be registered with Social Work England Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in statutory children's social care Be committed to delivering positive outcomes for children and families Demonstrate strong leadership, mentoring, and practice development skills Team Environment The Safeguarding & Support service operates across three locality-based teams, each comprising Team Managers, Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Family Support Workers.
