The UCL Estate comprises around 250 buildings, more than 730,000sqm (589ksm of academic accommodation and around 141ksm student accommodation or 4500 student bedrooms). The location, scale, variety and complexity of the estate are unparalleled in the sector, including world-leading research, teaching, offices and student accommodation within our Bloomsbury and UCL East campus, at Stratford.
Together, Campus Experience and Infrastructure and Estates Development (CE&I and ED) is responsible for managing all aspects of the UCL estate from the strategic to the operational, including property asset management, master-planning, capital projects and seamless end to end operational support.
About the role
In the newly created job of Major Projects Strategy - Assistant Director. you'll provide UCL's strategic expertise and leadership in the development of major projects. You'll play a key part in the planning of projects aligned to our Estates Vision and Strategy, including future phases of our new campus at UCL East, which is a huge part of our future. The role is vital to ensuring that we are innovative, entrepreneurial and strategic in our thinking, and provide assets and spaces that support our global position and create lasting value.
You’ll plan for the early development of projects, including early project vision and scoping, feasibility, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and routes to delivery / going to market.
This is the chance to play a senior, strategic and influential role at a very pivotal time for our Estates strategy. We think it's a fantastic opportunity.
Salary for this job will be £77,000 to £85,000 plus excellent benefits.
About you
To do this job you'll need the professional background and experience necessary to provide professional, technical and strategic advice at a senior management level within UCL, to identify and implement opportunities for improvement and the management of change.

* Excellent analytical skills with an ability to interpret and present complex data, including property financial/cash-flows
