Overview
Primary School HLTA role for Academics, working with Guardian Jobs, based in Rochford, Essex. The school is described as Good with a friendly and supportive team. The position is from September until at least July 2026, with 36 hours per week (full time/term time). Salary is £100-£120 per day. The role may lead to the school's direct teacher training after 1 year of employment.
Role and responsibilities
The HLTA will complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under supervision. This may include planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals or groups, or for short-term whole-class support, and monitoring pupil progress, assessing, recording and reporting on achievement and development.
Requirements and qualifications
* HLTA qualification is desirable but not essential
* Experience covering and teaching whole classes, including PPA time (3+ months)
* Good knowledge of the national curriculum
* Strong behaviour management and ability to work with a friendly, supportive team
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to work in a high-pressure environment
