Job Responsibilities
1. Report to the Transport Coordinator at the start of each shift.
2. Ensure correct and thorough completion of all paperwork.
3. Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including health, safety, and hygiene standards.
4. Maintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport department.
5. Maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearance.
6. Manage your working time effectively in line with the Road Transport Directive.
7. Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all times.
8. Complete daily vehicle checks following company procedures.
9. Be responsible for the unit and trailer, including temperature checks.
10. Make deliveries to customers' premises professionally.
11. Immediately report any issues regarding delivery times, delays, or load discrepancies.
12. Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after each delivery.
13. Maintain regular communication with the Transport Office and Customer Services.
14. Follow site procedures at each delivery point.
15. Complete defect reports accurately when required.
16. Achieve and aim for fuel efficiency targets set by the business.
Qualifications and Skills
* Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence, CPC, and a valid Tacho card.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
* Adaptable and methodical approach to work and training.
* Conscientious and reliable.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of the Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours regulations.
