Moss Lane School is now seeking to appoint a Clerk to our Governors
The role
We welcome applications from both experienced clerks and those considering clerking as a new career path. You will receive full support from SAfE’s central governance team, including a comprehensive, paid induction programme and ongoing professional development and training opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a flexible, part-time role that can easily fit around other commitments.
The Clerk to governors plays a vital role in effective operation of the governing body.
Key responsibilities include:
Administrative and Organisational Support: providing comprehensive administrative support including the preparation and distribution of agendas and papers, accurate minute-taking and the maintenance of governance records and documentation
Governance Guidance: offering guidance on governance, constitutional and procedural matters to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Procedural Advice: advising the governing body on meeting procedures to support effective decision-making and efficient meetings
Meeting Attendance: Attend all governing body meetings (six per year). Meetings are term time, early evening and agreed a year in advance.
Flexible Working: We understand that life has many demands, which is why we've designed this role to be truly flexible: Work from home - for preparation, follow-up work with online communication.
