Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield, WF4
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
GSL Education is looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs in a local Wakefield school. This is a rewarding role for someone dedicated to helping children overcome challenges and achieve their personal best.

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to help students access learning, follow individual education plans, and develop confidence and independence. Your role will be hands-on, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support tailored to each child’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with SEN in line with their individual education plans (IEPs)
* Assist students with learning, personal care, and emotional support where appropriate
* Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in activities
* Observe, monitor, and report on student progress
* Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
Requirements:
* Experience supporting students with SEN is preferred
* Understanding of SEN strategies and approaches
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
