We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Dietitian to join our team.
We deliver a nutrition and dietetic service within Ipswich Hospital, as well as across East Suffolk in various care environments.
The role includes running general outpatient clinics, with opportunities to work in community settings if interested.
You will work alongside specialist dietitians in areas such as oncology, paediatrics, home enteral feeding, and renal. You will gain experience supporting initiatives like MUST screening and malnutrition management, and have opportunities to deliver training and education to patients and healthcare staff.
The Dietetic Team comprises 26 Dietitians and 5 Support Staff, supported by secretarial and administrative staff. You will have access to regular supervision and opportunities for professional development through shadowing, tutorials, and courses tailored to your training needs.
We are a recognized department for student training in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire, and you will play an active role in supporting this program.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a defined caseload, using evidence-based, patient-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate dietary interventions for various medical conditions.
2. Gain experience and develop skills in clinical areas, undertaking nutritional assessments considering biochemistry, anthropometrics, clinical condition, and dietary intake.
3. Participate in patient care to ensure dietetic outcomes influence overall care planning.
4. Support, educate, and advise patients and carers on diet therapy aspects such as dietary modification, food fortification, nutritional supplementation, and enteral nutrition.
5. Ensure treatment plans align with patients' lifestyles, religious and cultural beliefs, functional abilities, and health outcomes.
6. Plan and prioritize your own clinical caseload and that of students and support staff.
