Wood is currently recruiting for a Decommissioning Study Lead on a long term contract role working outside IR35, but will also consider PAYE or Staff for the right candidate. Responsible for technical and commercial success in delivering high-level & front end studies for Operations EMEA, the Decommissioning Study Lead is the central role in any study to ensure the client’s success criteria and objectives are understood.
They will ensure that the proposed scope of work and method statement will adequately fulfil the success criteria and meet the objectives, guide the technical execution of the study, and ensure that the correct methods and level of effort is applied across the study key deliverables, which will usually include a Study Report, Cost Estimate and Schedule. The studies undertaken may include small to large projects and will range from Decommissioning Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) Studies through to Technical / Environmental Comparative Assessments, Decommissioning methodologyConcept Selection, front end engineering and design, and ad-hoc decommissioning support.
Interface with multidiscipline study teams
1. Co-ordinate studies performed by co-operation partners or sub contractors
2. Good appreciation of latest UKCS decommissioning regulations
3. Follow up and report status of the study activities, including economic performance
4. Communication with clients, partners and subcontractors
5. Prepare and give presentations
6. Evaluate capabilities of co-operation partners and subcontractors
7. Facilitate Decommissioning Workshops / Design Reviews / other collaborative engagements with stakeholders
8. Prepare and check relevant parts of study reports, typically as the lead author
9. Prepare tenders for studies, prepare study execution plans, determine study methods and budgets to perform work in accordance with client requirements
10. Co-operate with and provide support to Wood’s wider business
11. Support Business Development
12. Provide a consultative role to internal and external clients.
13. Quality – ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the Company Quality Policy and procedures.
14. Health, Safety & Environment – take personal responsibility and reasonable care of own safety and that of others. Work in accordance with training and instruction provided, reporting any shortfalls. Adhere to the requirements of the Company Health & Safety and Environmental Policies and report all incidents and accidents without delay.
Qualifications:
15. Min Degree Qualified, preferably in a technical subject
16. Chartered (preferred).
Knowledge, skills and experience:
17. Minimum of 10 year track record of Decommissioning, Subsea or Brownfield Modifications covering both fixed and floating offshore facilities
18. Demonstrable experience of delivering early phase consultancy / studies (concept, pre-FEED, FEED) expertise
19. Demonstrable experience of planning and writing content for tenders
20. Demonstrable ability to deliver efficient analytical solutions to engineering and cost estimating activities
21. Good rounded knowledge of oil and gas process systems, utilities, pipelines andsubsea infrastructure
22. Specialist experience (SME) an advantage
