Secondary Teachig Assistant

Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Ashford. This rewarding role involves working within secondary classes, supporting students with a range of additional needs to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
2. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
3. Help to create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
4. Support students with personal development, behaviour management, and social skills.
5. Foster strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
6. Patient, caring and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
7. Confident working with students with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
8. Able to work collaboratively as part of a strong, dedicated team.
9. Flexible and proactive in adapting to pupils’ individual needs.
10. Previous experience in an SEN or school setting is desirable but not essential – training can be provided.
