We are looking for a Band 6 Deputy Ward manager to join our team. You will assist in leading our dedicated team in the provision of expert patient care and rehabilitation, so if you are looking for a challenge, this could be the post for you. ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD HAVE A FULL NMC REGISTRATION. As a registered nurse, you will assist in the provision of active rehabilitation within this 21‑bedbed inpatient environment. The role incorporates the assessment of needs, development and implementation of programmes of care, and evaluation to support appropriate discharge back to the community. The post will support the ward manager in ensuring effective and efficient day‑to‑day running of the ward, ensuring safety at all times, and providing all aspects of patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care. The post holder will also supervise all junior staff and teach qualified and unqualified staff.
Responsibilities
* Develop the assessment, development, implementation and delivery of agreed standard of nursing care.
* Assist the ward manager to ensure all staff are aware of prevention and control of infection.
* Ensure an agreed standard of ward cleanliness by reporting any concerns to the ward manager.
Patient/Client Care
* Work collaboratively with patients' families, MTD and social care to ensure patients receive timely and safe discharge.
* Act as an advocate for patients and protect their rights and dignity.
* Discharge patients following the Trust's Discharge Policy.
* Provide basic, intermediate and advanced patient care.
Staff Support & Development
* Receive supervision and support to help you fulfil your potential.
