To participate in the development of clinical skills across the trust in line with the standards and recommendations.
To promote evidence-based practice in the care of the Acutely ill patient.
To develop, implement and deliver an Acute Medical skills training programme.
To develop and deliver both structured and unstructured training and educational sessions.
To promote an effective learning environment for the Nursing staff on the Acute Medical on the unit.
To develop competency-based learning packages for Acute Medical nursing staff.
To support Acute Medical nursing staff through post registration study.
To forge and maintain links with the various academic establishments involved in Acute Medical education.
To maintain links, and work in co-operation with the training and development department.
To develop and implement audit programmes that will evaluate the effectiveness of the Acute Medical skills training and education programmes.
To deliver/organise training/updates for medical devices.
To develop/implement and update policies and procedures appropriate to Acute Medicine
The postholder is expected to cover the duties of colleagues in posts of the same pay band or lower and within the range of the postholders knowledge and skills.A postholder may request a review (and re-evaluation) of his/her position document if he/she considers that any duty, if added to the existing duties, would affect the band of the post.
Main duties of the job
In all aspects of your work you have a duty and responsibility to comply with all components of the Trusts Infection Control Policy and the Hygiene Code, ensuring compliance with any specific role responsibilities outlined within this policy.
As part of your employment with the Trust, you are bound by the policies and procedures within the organisation and the wider NHS. To provide the trust and specifically the Acute Medical Unit staff with appropriate education and training.
To expand the knowledge base of the nursing staff within the Acute Medical Unit.
To link clinical skills with researched based knowledge.
The post holder will work in close co-operation with all members of the Multi-disciplinary team and the AMU Leadership team
