Control Systems Engineer Responsibilities
1. Development of electronic control systems for on-car use, HIL simulator, DIL simulator, and test facilities.
2. Ownership of control systems projects, from specification, through implementation, testing, delivery, and maintenance.
3. Development and management of ECU calibrations, setup, and projects.
4. Development of software/tools for configuration, calibration, data monitoring/analysis, and performance optimisation of electronic control and data systems.
5. Provide development support for standard ECU software and calibration to achieve optimal car performance.
6. Investigate control systems issues using telemetry, HIL, and SIL tools; provide feedback on resolutions.
7. Development of HIL simulations and plant models to improve system testing and calibration coverage.
8. Development of coding standards and systems engineering development methodologies.
9. Provide factory and possibly track support for control systems during test events as necessary.
Requirements
1. Good degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electronics, Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics).
2. Solid experience with McLaren Applied SECU, ATLAS, and System Monitor.
3. Strong mathematical/analytical skills and control theory knowledge.
4. Experience in modelling/simulation of electronic control systems with mechanical/hydraulic/electrical elements.
5. Proven track record in developing real-time control system software using Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and autocoding tools.
6. Knowledge of high-speed data acquisition and analysis systems.
7. Data-driven problem solving approach.
8. Flexible attitude and team-working ability in a changing environment.
9. Ideally, experience with F1 or top-level motorsport control systems.
10. Eligibility to work in the UK.
