Production Engineer
Cross Hills, BD20
39 hours/week, Mon–Fri, with a flexitime system and early finish on Fridays
Salary: £35,000–£38,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits
We’re expanding our Production Support Team with the appointment of a Production Engineer, reporting to the Head of Manufacturing.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Create CNC programs using Hypermill CAD/CAM and assist with CNC machine programming
Liaise with tooling suppliers and machinists to ensure optimal tooling is in use
Design and develop jigs and fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency
Review and optimise component routings for productivity
Analyse and improve production processes to reduce waste and increase output
Deliver training for machine setup and operation and support apprentices
Source and assess capable subcontractors from a machining and quality standpoint
Support layout planning, maintenance schedules, and risk assessments
Liaise with subcontractors and assist in supplier development and expediting
Support Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean projects
Provide cover on critical machines during absences
Travel off-site to suppliers and subcontractors when required
Collaborate with other departments to streamline process interfaces
