Teaching Assistant – Permanent Position Location: Thrapston A highly reputable, award-winning group of special educational needs (SEN) schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the permanent staff team at one of their specialist schools in Thrapston. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe, supportive, and inspiring learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and small group support to pupils, both in and out of the classroom. Assist teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons tailored to pupils’ needs. Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development. Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for each pupil. Assist with monitoring and recording pupil progress. Requirements: Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN setting. Understanding of special educational needs and a commitment to inclusive education. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils. Ability to work well as part of a team and follow guidance from teaching staff. A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
