Overview
Paralegal (also Graduate) Clinical Negligence. Our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Department is one of the foremost in the region and has been growing for a number of years. We are seeking a candidate to work on Clinical Negligence cases (with support) and assist with higher value and more complex claims. The role involves a wide range of work from taking new instructions through to trial or settlement of litigated cases. The department has a nationally recognised reputation for providing quality, personal service to a variety of clients.
The team is busy and open to marketing and business development. The successful candidate should be a team player who can contribute to the growth of the department and may participate in marketing events and seminars. The role will be based predominantly in our Lincoln office with the option to work from home part-time after a probationary period.
Responsibilities
* Manage all client work allocated by the Head of Department and senior team members.
* Ensure client work progresses expeditiously and keep clients informed on progress and costs.
* Exercise high standards of client care in a professional and courteous manner.
* Meet set performance targets and maintain confidentiality and security of all firm and client information.
* Maintain clear communications with other firm personnel and build good relationships with external institutions.
* Support a demanding case load and contribute to the department’s growth; participate in events as appropriate.
Experience Required
* Law Degree (or equivalent); LPC qualification or Legal Executive qualification desirable.
* Excellent IT and case management skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
* Experience with case management systems is advantageous.
* Professional appearance and strong written and oral communication skills.
* Hardworking with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
