Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Senior Democratic Services Officer for a Local Authority Client in Birkenhead. In this role, you will support and improve the Council's democratic processes, providing expert committee administration, advising Members, and ensuring timely, accurate decision-making and reporting. Duties: Prepare, publish, and manage agendas, reports, and minutes for Council and Committee meetings. Provide advice and administrative support to Councillors, senior officers, and external stakeholders. Support scrutiny, policy reviews, independent appeals, and electoral processes. Help modernise and improve democratic procedures and committee management systems. Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience: Experience in local authority Committee administration and meeting management. Experience drafting minutes, reports, and formal communications. Experience working with Councillors, senior officers, and external stakeholders. Experience managing projects and improving administrative or democratic processes.
