Overview
A Butcher Apprentice will learn how to:
* Prepare, trim, weigh and price up meat;
* Cut and bone a carcase;
* Package meat and store it correctly;
* Discuss different cuts with customers, including how to cook and safely store them;
* Keep the working environment safe and store meat in accordance with health and safety legislation;
* Maintain business records and budgets.

* Training level 2
* Butchery Level 2
* Knife Skills Level 2
* H&S in the Food Supply Level 2
* Food Hygiene Level 2
Requirements / Skills
* Ideally Maths and English GCSE 4's
* High standard of hygiene
* Good communication skills / customer service skills
* Ability to upsell produce
* Safety conscious
* Good hand and eye coordination
Progression / Prospects
* On successful completion of the course, you could progress to the Level 3 Advanced Butcher apprenticeship.
* You could also achieve a permanent employment contract.
