Creative and Youth Engagement Coordinator
Hours: 22.5 hrs per week - fixed term to April 2026 with potential for extension
Working with various visual and creative art forms, processes, and practitioners to inspire connectivity, confidence, dialogue, and enjoyment, enhancing people's experiences. This role involves connecting with communities and young people to engage more meaningfully with our collections, themes, and programming.
Skills and Experience Required
Key responsibilities include:
1. Producing and delivering welcoming, high-quality, creative workshops using museum objects as inspiration for communities and young people at the National Justice Museum.
2. Collaborating with other teams to create and deliver family activities during holidays.
3. Setting up and managing a Youth Group to ensure youth voices influence the museum's creative and curatorial directions and to develop career pathways in the cultural sector.
4. Coordinating with artists and practitioners for activities both inside and outside the museum.
5. Extending creative activities into the city and other locations for events, pop-up interventions, and mobile activities.
6. Participating in programming sessions, managing communications, and strategizing.
7. Recording attendance, impact data, and observations.
8. Working with the Collections team to select and prepare objects for workshops.
9. Creating digital content for workshops and the museum's online platforms.
10. Preparing materials and managing logistics for workshops.
11. Supporting co-producers, practitioners, and volunteers.
12. Photographing and sharing processes and outcomes on social media, respecting data protection.
13. Building relationships with individuals, communities, and organizations to boost participation.
14. Collaborating with marketing to promote activities effectively.
15. Using a CRM system for bookings and event management (training provided).
16. Committing to access, inclusion, and diversity in all activities.
Other duties
Developing relationships, promoting equal opportunities, complying with policies, participating in museum activities, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
