gap technical are proud to be recruiting for a contract Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a leading manufacturer based on Oldham
Performance Objectives
Planned and Reactive Maintenance: Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on a wide range of production and auxiliary equipment, including automated control systems.
Breakdown Response: Respond rapidly to equipment breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring production continuity.
Preventive Maintenance: Execute preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with the site's Maintenance Plan to enhance equipment reliability.
Fault Diagnosis: Quickly and effectively troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system faults to support production targets.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records, including maintenance logs, work orders, and compliance reports.
Safe Isolation Procedures: Conduct electrical, pneumatic, and steam isolations in accordance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety protocols.
Technical Documentation: Develop and revise technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules, and engineering schematics.
Spare Parts Management: Support inventory control and organisation of the engineering store to ensure critical parts are available when needed.
Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to site-wide continuous improvement and reliability programs to enhance operational efficiency.Person Specification
HNC/HND in an engineering discipline.
Completed a recognised City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent engineering apprenticeship.
Proven post-apprenticeship experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role.
Strong electrical bias (60/40) with competence across both electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to diagnose and repair faults across electrical, pneumatic, steam, and water systems.
Experience in both planned and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrable continuous improvement mindset and practical application of root cause analysis.
Ambitious, hardworking, and enthusiastic with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.Apply
