About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Control Systems Engineer.
Design, test, and commission control systems in accordance with company, customer, and legislative requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Team:
o Mentor and coach junior staff.
o Liaise with customers and internal design/management team.
o Prepare and review control system design, build, and testing specifications and O&M manuals to the required standard.
o Design and test control systems in accordance with agreed specifications, standards, and legislative requirements.
o Provide technical supervision of system design, build, and installation personnel.
o Support Project Managers with project planning and effort estimation.
o Assist in tendering activities, including cost estimation and technical proposals.
2. Specialism:
o Develop control system software to meet project needs.
o Support development and implementation of software standards.
o Provide onsite commissioning and testing of control systems, adhering to site regulations.
o Review control system design and testing in line with specifications and standards.
3. General:
o Work with Project Management to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery.
o Ensure all control systems meet specifications, standards, and legislative requirements.
o Follow HR policies and maintain proper records.
o Ensure safety and compliance of all equipment.
o Follow business procedures and perform other duties as required.
The Person:
* Qualified to HNC/HND/degree level in a relevant discipline, with extensive experience in system integration or substantial experience with lower qualifications.
* Proficient in control system design documentation.
* Understanding of project lifecycle and programming environments like CodeSys, Straton, Beckhoff.
* Experience with PLC-based control systems, HMI/SCADA coding, and programming languages such as Python, C#, Java.
* Knowledge of communication protocols like Modbus, OPC.
* Experience in machinery safety standards and onsite commissioning.
* Knowledge of industrial hardware systems, control panel design, and hardware documentation.
* Background in industrial automation, preferably in water/wastewater, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors.
* Experience with platforms like Beijer, Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware SCADA, and PLCs.
* Familiarity with Industrial Ethernet, DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet.
