The Care Assistant role involves providing homecare services, including health & wellbeing activities, housekeeping, personal care, and companionship.
The role requires delivering high-quality, compassionate care that complies with CQC standards, supporting re-enablement, and demonstrating understanding, empathy, respect, and warmth to customers.
What will I do?
1. Visit village & community customers daily, following personal care plans, assisting with activities like getting in/out of bed, washing, bathing, dressing, mealtimes, medication, and continence care.
2. Perform house duties such as fitness support, health programs, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and supporting customers attending medical appointments or hospital discharge.
3. Encourage customer independence in daily activities and exercise.
4. Liaise with family members when needed.
5. Respect customers’ dignity and privacy.
6. Ensure full compliance with safeguarding policies.
7. Attend all mandatory training, including care certificate completion.
8. Preferably have a driving license and access to a vehicle, as the role is community-based.
Key Skills & Requirements
1. Support available for newcomers through Audley Academy’s induction and care certificate.
2. Funding for QCF Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care.
3. Good written and spoken English.
4. Use of company mobile and scheduling app.
5. Accurate electronic logging of care activities and medication instructions.
6. Good knowledge of the local area.
7. High standards of personal presentation and hygiene.
8. Effective time management and adaptability.
9. Act as a role model through excellent customer and team service.
