Our Digital Manager is responsible for owning and optimising CareCo's end-to-end digital marketing and e-commerce performance, across our web, retail and contact centre funnels, blending strategic leadership, hands-on execution, and partner management to drive profitable growth, deliver excellent customer experience, and measurable commercial outcomes.
This is a full-time permanent position, covering 37.5 hours over a Monday to Friday week, based out of CareCo's Braintree site.
What are my responsibilities?
* Define and own the digital growth strategy aligned to commercial objectives, seasonal priorities, and campaign calendars, translating business goals into measurable channel and performance plans.
* Lead continuous optimisation across UX, content, and conversion - driving accessibility, site performance, and test-and-learn programmes that improve customer engagement and ROI.
* Build and maintain the digital measurement framework and reporting cadence, translating data into insight and action that informs strategic and trading decisions.
* Set and oversee multi-channel marketing strategy across Paid Media, SEO, Content, Digital PR, CRM and Email, ensuring all channels deliver sustainable traffic, engagement, and revenue growth.
* Manage agencies and internal teams to deliver to brief, budget, and performance targets embedding strong governance, creative testing, and use of first-party data.
* Integrate content, search, and lifecycle marketing to create a cohesive customer journey that supports acquisition, retention, and brand authority.
* Own the e-commerce roadmap covering site enhancements, re-platforming, and feature delivery - ensuring accessibility, security, SEO, and analytics are embedded throughout.
* Lead cross-functional project delivery with clear business cases, agile workflows, and measurable ROI, managing vendors and budgets to achieve operational excellence.
* Lead and develop a high-performing in-house digital team, establishing clear goals, coaching for growth, and maintaining high creative and technical standards.
* Build productive relationships with key stakeholders across Brand, Creative, Retail, IT and Contact Centre, ensuring digital initiatives align with wider business goals.
What qualifications & skills are required of me?
* Qualified up to A-Level/Diploma within a relevant subject.
* Proven experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, or a closely related environment, with accountability for driving revenue, performance, and ROI.
* Hands-on expertise in at least two core areas such as Paid Search/Shopping, Paid Social, SEO (including Digital PR), or Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) or equivalent transferable experience.
* Experience designing or contributing to structured A/B or multivariate testing programmes and interpreting results to guide design and performance decisions.
* Experience coordinating digital and web projects with internal and external teams, ideally using Agile or Kanban methodologies (backlog management, UAT/QA).
* Demonstrated ability to improve conversion, channel efficiency and customer experience using data-led insights (e.g. ROAS, CPA, CSR), with an analytical mindset for interpreting data, spotting trends, and shaping marketing strategies.
* Confident working with analytics and tracking tools including GA4, tag management, attribution reporting, and dashboard creation (Looker, Data Studio, PowerBI or similar).
* Skilled in brief writing, stakeholder and agency collaboration, using data to challenge assumptions, strengthen creative execution, and communicate insights clearly to both creative and non-digital stakeholders.
* Able to translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for non-specialist audiences and senior stakeholders, with strong commercial awareness of how digital performance drives retail sales and loyalty.
* Pays close attention to detail, ensuring all digital assets, product listings, and campaigns are consistent, accurate, and on-brand.
* Tools You'll Use – GA4, Tag Manager, Looker/Data Studio (or similar), ad platforms (Google Ads, Meta, etc.), feed management, marketing automation/ESP, A/B testing tools (Optimizely/AB Tasty/VWO), Magento Commerce, project management ), and site search (Algolia).
