Sage Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom
Assurance Manager - Technology & Data
Job Description
The Assurance Manager - Technology & Data will lead the delivery of the Assurance Plan with a specific focus on technology, data, and artificial intelligence domains. This role will oversee audits and assurance activities that strengthen Sage’s digital resilience and governance, ensuring robust controls across emerging technologies and data‑driven processes. The position offers excellent exposure to Sage leadership and requires the ability to represent the team, influence stakeholders, and drive forward our digital assurance strategy.
This is a hybrid role, working 3 days a week onsite from our Newcastle office. In this role, you’ll champion assurance activities across technology, data and AI, ensuring they align with Sage’s digital transformation ambitions. You’ll design and deliver a dynamic, risk‑based assurance plan and lead a portfolio of audits from initial planning through to final reporting.
As a trusted partner to technology, data, cybersecurity and AI leaders, you’ll bring clarity to complex issues, highlight emerging risks and support teams in driving meaningful improvements. Your work will be deeply connected to Sage’s evolution and you’ll play a key role in shaping our assurance methodology and digital assurance strategy.
To thrive here, you’ll have a strong foundation in technology risk, data governance, cybersecurity or AI ethics, and experience delivering risk‑based audits in large, complex organisations. You’ll be comfortable engaging with technical and non‑technical stakeholders alike and adapt your communication style to fit the audience. You’ll also enjoy juggling multiple projects, thinking creatively and collaborating across the business.
Experience with tools such as Power BI, Python or Alteryx will help you succeed, as will a genuine curiosity about emerging digital trends. Travel of up to 20% may be required, and confidence with core MS Office tools is expected.
We would especially be excited to hear from candidates with eight or more years of experience in internal audit or assurance, a multinational technology background, or professional qualifications such as CIA, CISA, CDPSE, CISM, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or certifications in AI, cybersecurity or data disciplines. A commitment to ongoing professional development is essential.
