A Vacancy at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a 2 year fixed term training contract that will lead to a level 3 pharmacy technician qualification. The successful candidate will become a registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Training and learning
The trainee will be required to undertake distance learning and participate in a comprehensive in-house training programme provided by the team. They will have the opportunity to rotate through the different areas within Pharmacy. Apprentices spend a minimum of 6 hours per week of their working hours completing classroom-based learning in addition to on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
* Work within a multidisciplinary team and be a team player who can meet deadlines and work under pressure.
* Travel between the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust sites as part of routine duties.
* Learn about pharmacy services under the guidance, direction, control or supervision of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other staff to practice the skills of a qualified pharmacy technician.
* Undertake a 2 year comprehensive training and educational programme while working towards gaining the pharmacy technician qualification.
* Engage in rotations that provide training, experience and competency assessment in various aspects of hospital pharmacy under supervision.
Qualifications and requirements
* Demonstrate being dynamic, self-motivated and willing to work hard.
* Excellent communication and IT skills, with attention to detail.
* Ability to travel between Trust sites.
* Must be prepared to work as part of a team and meet learning agreements signed by the trainee, the educational provider and the workplace.
Working hours and conditions
Working hours are 37.5 per week, on a rotational basis, including weekend and late duty. The candidate will cover a bank holiday shift once each year and complete rotations across the sites. Annual leave entitlement will be as per Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.
