Location: DE4, DerbyshireDay Rate: £95-£105 per dayContract: Long-term to permanentHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4pmStart Date: September 2025
Are you a patient, proactive, and compassionate teaching assistant with experience supporting pupils with special educational needs?
We're working with a nurturing, community-focused primary school in the DE4 area to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a focus on delivering 1:1 and small group interventions. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity ideal for someone who thrives on making a real difference to children who need additional support with their learning and emotional development.
The Role:* Deliver targeted interventions for pupils with additional needs* Support children with a range of SEN, including speech & language difficulties, autism, and learning delay* Work 1:1 and in small groups to develop confidence, engagement and academic progress* Use visual timetables, structured routines and personalised strategies* Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence* Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support plans* Create a calm, inclusive environment where all learners feel safe and supported
The Ideal Candidate:* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification* Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, communication needs, developmental delay)* Confident delivering interventions in literacy and numeracy* Calm, consistent and flexible approach* Comfortable supporting emotional needs and behaviour where required* Able to build strong, positive relationships with children and staff
