What the Job Involves As a Social Worker in our service, you will play a key role in promoting stability and supporting transitions to independence for children in care. Your responsibilities will include: Undertaking and managing care proceedings and associated court work Assessing the needs and circumstances of children in corporate care, developing and reviewing robust care plans Advocating for children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes Collaborating with families, carers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies for coordinated support Promoting placement stability, permanency planning, and transitions to independence and adulthood Skills Registered with Social Work England, with post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s social care Skilled in care planning, court work, and multi-agency collaboration Committed to strengths-based practice and achieving the best possible outcomes for children Sound knowledge and ability to deliver social work support to service users and families Ability to communicate complex social issues clearly to both patients and professionals Ability to plan and coordinate social care plans and aspects of patient discharge Motivated by making a genuine difference and contributing to a supportive team
