Ambrose Avenue Group Practice in Colchester is a friendly and welcoming GP practice and are currently seeking a r espiratory nurse to join our team. Working across our two sites, Ambrose Avenue and Tollgate, this is a full-time role, requiring 37.5 hours per week over five days. The successful applicant must have experience with asthma and COPD. The main responsibilities of the role include: Undertaking health assessments, administering medication and treatments, and performing diagnostic tests. Providing and evaluating a range of health interventions to ensure that patients’ health and social care needs are met. General health and well-being promotion as well as creating individual, person-centred plans for patients with, or at risk of, a long term condition. Running asthma, COPD clinics and reviews. Managing and treating long-term conditions, i n line with national and local policies and the practice needs. Reviewing medication for therapeutic effectiveness, in accordance with evidence-based practice as well as national and practice protocols; working with patients to support their adherence to prescribed treatments. Prioritising health problems and intervening appropriately, to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care. About the Candidate All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience: A relevant nursing degree. Current NMC registration with an active PIN. Competence to undertake asthma and COPD, holding relevant certificates. Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions. Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS. About Us Ambrose Avenue Group Practice is a friendly, long-established, award-winning, progressive GP practice. We are based over two surgery sites within 10 minutes of each other, serving the population of Stanway and Prettygate in Colchester, Essex. We are a training practice and offer services to a population of over 14,500 patients.
