As part of the Social Care reforms, we are developing our Children’s Family Front Door and introducing a new multi-disciplinary MACPT as part of our Family Front Door response pathway. The MACPT will carry out child protection investigations, safety planning, and manage joint work with partners to ensure timely safeguarding and protection for children and young people identified as at risk. Decisions and investigations will be led by highly skilled and experienced practitioners with direct experience working with children, young people and their families.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary MACPT to conduct child protection investigations and safety planning.
* Attend strategy discussions and undertake child protection enquiries until conclusion; make appropriate recommendations to ensure timely and appropriate support and intervention to reduce risk and escalate needs.
* Collaborate with community partners to enable timely responses to children by building strong trusted relationships in the community.
* Work primarily within one of the three district areas (Redditch/Wychavon, Worcester/Malvern, Bromsgrove/Wyre Forest).
* Support delivery through supervision by two experienced Team Managers and guidance from two Advanced Social Work Practitioners.
Qualifications and Experience
* Over 2 years post-qualifying social work experience with significant knowledge and experience in child protection.
* Sound knowledge of child protection practice and procedures, and application of levels of need guidance.
* Strong partnership working and ability to employ the right service response at the right time.
